I love the Steiner Ranch community, and I love to support local. When I heard about our very own Elicia Gower having an “All Steiner” wedding, I thought it was a wonderful celebration of our Steiner small businesses. If you know Elicia, you probably weren’t surprised. A resident and Realtor of Steiner since 2006, Elicia has been a huge supporter of our community’s small businesses in her daily life, both personally and professionally.
Like many other Steiner residents, Elicia immediately fell in love with Steiner Ranch when she relocated from California. The community not only offered the acclaimed LISD schools, a family friendly environment in which to raise her children, but Steiner was also a great community to grow her real estate business.
As a small business owner, Elicia understood and appreciated Steiner Ranch’scollection of small business owners; many of who are Steiner residents themselves. Recognizing the importance of local businesses supporting one another in their growth, she started the Steiner Ranch BNI group in 2007. This unique referral group is comprised of local Steiner businesses, and local business owners who are Steiner residents. While Elicia’s desire was to support and connect small businesses and residents together, she never thought she would later marry someone she had met years earlier in BNI.
So when it came time for Elicia to plan her wedding, it only made sense to include part of her Steiner family by using as many Steiner businesses as possible for an all-Steiner wedding. Elicia wanted to showcase what her fellow Steiner businesses had to offer. Seriously, that’s some community love!
As Steiner residents, we have an impressive amount of great services and talented individuals available at our fingertips. Social media has helped connect us with this talent. The Steiner Ranch Small Business Facebook group has been a great resource for Elicia, especially when it came time for her to fulfill her wedding day needs. The Facebook group (969 members and growing) is not just a place for businesses to advertise themselves, but also a forum for Steiner residents to refer and provide testimonials for neighbors in search of items or services. When I first looked at Elicia’s collection of Steiner vendors for her wedding, I knew I wanted to hear more about how they played a role in her special day. Steiner Ranch Steakhouse– Reception
“We knew right away that our reception had to be at the Steiner Steakhouse. We did a private dinner for just family immediately after the ceremony, then hosted about 60 friends after for cocktails and cake. The food and hospitality were, as always, outstanding and the 3rd floor private dining room, Bucks Loft, was the perfect size for our intimate gathering.”

With just their families attending the ceremony, and 60 of their closet friends attending their reception (most of whom are Steiner residents), Elicia and Dan’s wedding day was a beautiful, intimate affair. Thanks to her Steiner family, her big day included a slice of home and the community she loves. Wasn’t she a stunning bride?!?
