			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ribelin Ranch is going to be completely different in a year, people will actually be living there and soon after going to school there. That is the site of a new high school where presumably kids from Steiner Ranch, Riverplace, and Grandview Hills will go to. It will also house a middle school where kids from Riverplace and Grandview Hills, etc will go to school making Canyon Ridge Middle School a Steiner Ranch school only? <p>There is a dearth of information about Ribelin Ranch, so I saw this article and had to put something up about it. We do know there will be residential and retail, but not sure which kind&#8230; except for <a href="http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2008/02/18/daily1.html?ana=from_rss">now</a>.</p>

<p>GE Real Estate and Trammell Crow Residential have partnered on The Alexan Ribelin, a Class A apartment community that will be part of the Ribelin Ranch development. That master-planned project will include residential, office and retail space as well as a new middle school and high school. The first Alexan units are scheduled for delivery in November 2008.</p></blockquote>
<p>The dark purple area below is where the school will go I assume. The apartments might be closer to 2222.</p>

<p>So now we know, I am worried about traffic in this area now. 2222 is not that bad yet traffic wise yet, but with Ladera Bend, Ribelin Ranch coming up I expect it to get worse. Here is a <a href="http://www.2222cona.org/Projects/TxDOT/TxDOT.html">page </a>about the ideas TX-Dot has for 2222. We will see when/if these get implemented.</p>

Now it makes sense after reading<a href="http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/stories/2005/12/26/daily28.html"> this article</a>, Scholtzskys owned the land for a long time and sold it to Taco Cabana in the end of 2005 and Taco Cabana will open a store probably by the end of the year looking at what stage it is right now.</p>
<p>The thing I don&#8217;t understand is that why would you have two Mexican fast food joints within walking distance of each other. I am all in favor of retail, but this does not make much sense.   </p>
