Cell Phone Nirvana

Ok, Most of the time I post about Steiner Ranch, but this one is not about Steiner.

Me and my wife have been loyal Sprint customers for 6 years now and we always get the free phones that they offer and some crappy plan with no web, text messaging, or anything else cool.

Our plan expired December 4th and I have been doing a lot of research about what plan to get now. I found the Sprint Sero plan from a really good deal website called SlickDeals.net and have been been trying to figure out how to get this deal ever since.

First question you may have is what is the Sprint Sero Plan?

Here is the relevant text:

1: WHAT IS SERO?
SERO is a heavily discounted plan for friends and family of Sprint employees which currently is open to the public. There are 3 different plans available:
(INDIVIDUAL PLANS ONLY):

1. Sprint Employee Referral Offer 500 (minutes) for $30.00 per month
2. Sprint Employee Referral Offer 1250 (minutes) for $49.99 per month
3. Sprint Employee Referral Offer 2500 (minutes) for $99.99 per month

It will show up on your bill either as a Fair and Flexible plan (old subscribers), or as a SERO plan (recent orders).

THERE ARE NO FAMILY PLANS ON SERO!!!!! THAT MEANS MINUTES CANNOT BE SHARED!!

SERO at a glance HERE (ty madlife).

2: WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH SERO?

* Nationwide Long Distance

Yeah so lots of minutes, web access, text messaging… this plan is awesome.

After reading this persons account of his experience in trying to get the plan. I will do a play by play of how I got it.

10:50 PM: Searched for Sprint Retention. I read the above guy’s blog and he did not have much luck with *2

10:52 PM: Called 1-877-766-7697 Someone picked up on the second ring.

10:53 PM: Told him my plan was over yesterday and I want the SERO Plan for both lines on my family account. I don’t want to switch numbers. He tells me I need to go to the website. I say I don’t want to switch numbers so I can’t. He says ok and has to talk to someone.

10:55 PM: Tells me he can do it. I am shocked… I thought it would take much longer to get it out of him. He asks what kind of phone I want. I am frantically looking for which one to get.

11:10 PM: Phone Call over. I chose two Samsung M500’s and they are shipping to me soon and I am already on the Sprint Sero plan. This is awesome. I am happy…

Anyway I highly recommend if you are out of contract and you want a good phone plan and don’t want to jump into Crackberry/Blackberry territory. This plan/phones are the best deal out there.
