Randy Ellis Memorial Service

Randy Ellis worked in almost every new phase of Steiner Ranch since the development started.  Anyone who had the pleasure of working with and getting to know him quickly learned to appreciate him for his sharp sense of humor, zest for life, positive attitude, and most of all his integrity.  It’s my understanding that he’s fought cancer a few times over his life, but he’s such a fighter, he even came back to work to sell homes in Emerald Ridge after having a lung removed!  Sadly, he has lost his battle with cancer.  He leaves behind a wife and three young daughters.  More information about his memorial can he found here.

Randy Ellis Randy Ellis, loving son, husband, father, brother and friend passed away on Nov. 9th, 2011. He was born on Oct. 12, 1958. A native of Sodus, NY, Randy was an avid skier and worked as a ski instructor at nearby Brantling Ski Slopes. He was a high scorer on his high school soccer team and later played 10+ years in Austin’s recreational league. Randy and his bride, Patty, took a three month cross-country road trip in 1983 in search of adventure and a warmer climate. They found both in Austin. His friendly personality fit well with a successful career selling new homes for Austin builders. In addition to family, Randy loved reading, touch football, hiking Barton Creek, tubing the Frio River, golfing and playing poker. His smile and fun-loving, mischievous humor were known by all. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Ellis. Randy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patty, three daughters, Tarra, McKenzie, and Devon, mother Marlene Ellis, sisters Julie Thompson and Nikki Greenwood. In celebration of a life well lived family and friends may gather from 11:30 am – 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19 at The County Line, 6500 Bee Cave Road, Austin, TX 78746. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to “Austin Parks & Recreation” for Barton Creek Greenbelt, 200 S. Lamar, Austin TX 78704, or a college fund set up for Randy’s youngest daughter, Devon Ellis, at Wells Fargo Bank payable to “Memorial Account for Devon Michelle Ellis.”
