Ice Skating & More at Oasis, TX

There’s a new Ice Skating Rink at Oasis, TX (Also known as new mega-complex where the Oasis restaurant is).  It’s to the right of the Oasis, under Uncle Billys BBQ.  We went up there last night to check it out.  It’s $10 + tax to skate, which includes ice skate rental.  We didn’t have the kiddos with us, so we didn’t end up skating.  The rink is very small.  I think an adult would get bored skating in about 5 minutes on it, but it would be cool to take the kids.  We decided to spend our drinks on a few margaritas instead.

If you haven’t checked out the Oasis in the past few months, there are several new stores including Austin Java (and they do have some short term parking spaces, so you don’t have to walk all the way from the garage just to get a cup of coffee), Zoltan David Jeweler, Texas Treasures (kind of a home decor store featuring local pieces), and Blue Genie, an art bazaar.  I also heard a rumor that Soliel is closing down and Apatite Cafe is moving over from their Bee Cave Location.  In my opinion, this would be a GREAT addition to the complex.  Their food is delicious and I wasn’t a fan of Soliel’s overpriced food and limited menu.
