Apartments coming to Ribelin Ranch

Ribelin Ranch is going to be completely different in a year, people will actually be living there and soon after going to school there. That is the site of a new high school where presumably kids from Steiner Ranch, Riverplace, and Grandview Hills will go to. It will also house a middle school where kids from Riverplace and Grandview Hills, etc will go to school making Canyon Ridge Middle School a Steiner Ranch school only? More details about the start dates of the high school and middle school here.

There is a dearth of information about Ribelin Ranch, so I saw this article and had to put something up about it. We do know there will be residential and retail, but not sure which kind… except for now.

A new apartment project will bring 350 units to the FM 2222 corridor near Four Points.

GE Real Estate and Trammell Crow Residential have partnered on The Alexan Ribelin, a Class A apartment community that will be part of the Ribelin Ranch development. That master-planned project will include residential, office and retail space as well as a new middle school and high school. The first Alexan units are scheduled for delivery in November 2008.

The dark purple area below is where the school will go I assume. The apartments might be closer to 2222.

So now we know, I am worried about traffic in this area now. 2222 is not that bad yet traffic wise yet, but with Ladera Bend, Ribelin Ranch coming up I expect it to get worse. Here is a page about the ideas TX-Dot has for 2222. We will see when/if these get implemented.

With as dangerous as 2222 is already around the River Place area, I can’t imagine what it will be like with more traffic AND a bunch of high school kids driving around.

Following from the 12/6/07 LISD board meeting gives details about where the high school and middle school will sit, with both in the dark purple area above.

Document gives the original proposal of using the middle school building for opening the high school with 9th grade in 2009. Then in 2010, the high school building would open for 9th & 10th, with middle school becoming true middle school for 6th-8th. Latest proposal under discussion and for which LISD is soliciting feedback is for opening the HS with 9th & 10th in 2009.

Obviously, I’ll be glad to have the school as well (my son will go there in a few years).

In response to WHATEVER’s comments, who seems to be posting after drinking based upon the comments I’ve seen him make on other threads, my daughter goes to CPHS now, and actually it’s a good school and the kids there really like it. Maybe you should find out what you are talking about before you post.
