I know at some point (I could be wrong though!) that they had to use temporary space for some classes. I heard there were a LOT of kindergarten classes. The new elementary school is supposedly going to be across from the Bluffs subdivision (on Quinlan Park). I didn't hear anything about the size but it seems like it will be designed in a unique way. I was told the following neighborhoods would be the proposed ones to attend the new school (the vote is to occur this month at the school board meeting): 1. Neighborhood code 2765 - UT Golf Course area -- Elementary school 23 2. Neighborhood code 2790 - The Bluffs, Lakewood, Sierra Vista, Summer Vista - Elementary school 23 3. Neighborhood code 2770 - Savannah, Bel-Car, - Elementary 23. 4. Neighborhood code 2780- Casa Lano and down to Lake Austin - Elementary 23. As far as I have heard, Laura Bush is pretty full. I haven't seen anyplace where an elementary school would fit - apparently it's going to be a bit smaller than Steiner and Laura Bush - will hold about 250 students less, so it will be quite a bit smaller. It's so wierd because I never get the impression Steiner and Laura Bush are overcroweded? But I suppose with all the new growth and developments they are being proactive about it.
